EARLY SUMMER

The First Fruits & The Longest Light

The Narrative: Early Summer is the season of "First Fruits." The long labor of Spring finally yields its first reward: the sweetness of a berry or the snap of a pea. It is a time of maximum light (Solstice) and gratitude. It reminds us that God is faithful to bring the harvest, and we give the first and best back to Him.

Spiritual Discipline

Gratitude: Practicing the offering of "first fruits" in our lives.

  • Practice 1: Tithing/Giving from our abundance.
  • Practice 2: Morning Prayer (giving the first light to God).

Scriptural Anchor

Proverbs 3:9-10

"Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing."

Prayer for the Season:

"Lord, You have filled the world with light and sweetness. I offer back to You the first and best of my day, my energy, and my love."
