The Magic of the Pot

"He causeth... herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth." — Psalm 104:14
Eli stood on his little stool. He was helping Mom in the kitchen.

On the counter was a big pile of tomatoes. They were red and shiny. Next to them were green leaves of basil that smelled like a sweet garden breeze.

"Eli," Mom said, "do you remember when these were just tiny seeds in a packet?"

Eli nodded. "I remember! They were hard and dry. Now they are soft and squishy!"

Mom put the tomatoes in a big pot. Eli helped her stir with a long wooden spoon. Soon, the kitchen smelled like the best dinner ever. The garden was becoming a feast!

The Big Circle

Everything in the garden travels in a big circle. It starts with a seed, then a sprout, then a plant, then fruit, and finally... it becomes your dinner! This is called the Cycle of Provision. God designed the world so that we can help Him bring food to the table.

The Big Truth God's work doesn't stop in the dirt. He uses our hands in the kitchen to turn His gifts into a meal!

Herbs are the Sparkle

When we add basil, oregano, or parsley to our sauce, we are adding "The Sparkle." Herbs make food taste special and smell wonderful. God gave us herbs to make our hearts happy when we eat. Picking them and stripping the leaves is a way of serving your family.

The Steward's Reward

The best part of being a Sower is the first bite! When you eat the sauce you helped grow, you are tasting the reward of your hard work. You were patient. You were faithful. And now, you are full! Thank You, God, for the garden!
