The Five Sense Garden
"O taste and see that the Lord is good."
— Psalm 34:8
"Mara! Eli! Close your eyes!" Mom said.
She held a green leaf under Eli's nose. "What does it smell like?"
Eli sniffed. "It smells like... spicy lemons!"
"That's Lemon Balm!" Mom said. Then she put something in Mara's hand. "How does it feel?"
"It's fuzzy!" Mara giggled. "It feels like a tiny green blanket."
"That's a Sage leaf," Mom explained. "God didn't just make the garden to be work. He made it to be a party for our noses, our hands, and our mouths!"
A World of Flavors
Every plant in the garden has a secret. Some are sweet like a berry. Some are crunchy like a pea. Some are peppery like a radish! God gave us all these flavors because He loves us and wants us to be happy when we eat.
The Big Truth
God is a generous King. He made the garden beautiful to see, sweet to taste, and wonderful to smell!
The Garden Song
If you stay very quiet, the garden has its own song. You can hear the *Buzz-Buzz* of the bees working. You can hear the *Rustle-Rustle* of the wind in the corn. You can hear the *Snap!* of a fresh bean being picked. God's world is alive!
Gentle Touching
Some leaves are smooth like a slide. Some are bumpy like a road. When we touch the plants gently, we are learning about how God designed them to live. A Sower is a friend to the fuzzy leaves and the smooth leaves too.
