Eliyah led Sarah into a room filled with brick walls. The sunlight streamed through high windows, illuminating dust motes that danced like tiny numbers in the air. Some walls were built high, reaching toward the ceiling. Others were halfway taken apart, their stones stacked neatly on the floor.

"Yes!" Sarah said, her eyes brightening. "I built that wall just last month. Three fives make fifteen! It was a strong wall."

This unit is about **Inverse Operations**. It means that for every action, there is a way to return to the start. It is the math of Restoration—the holy art of bringing things back to their original state. In the Kingdom, nothing is ever truly broken if we have the key to the Rewind.

"See?" Eliyah laughed. "Division isn't a guessing game. It's a reunion. You are just finding the missing family member. When you know the multiplication family, you already know the division answer."

When we divide, we are not destroying; we are just pulling on one strand of the cord to find the others. We are never lost if we hold onto the family bond.

Chapter 2: The Rewind Button

The next morning, Eliyah set a new problem before Sarah. It was written in charcoal on a large slate: **24 Ă· 6 = ?**.

Sarah sighed. She picked up a piece of chalk and started to draw 24 little circles. She got to ten, then fifteen... her hand started to ache. Drawing so many circles for every problem seemed so slow.

"Sarah, stop!" Eliyah said gently, taking the chalk from her hand. "Don't do the work the hard way. A Steward must be efficient so they have more time for service. Use the **Rewind Button**."

"What is the Rewind Button?" she asked, rubbing her hand.

"Ask the question backwards," Eliyah whispered. "Instead of asking 'What is 24 divided by 6?', which feels like a big job, ask 'What times 6 equals 24?'"

Sarah closed her eyes. She imagined the multiplication table she had mastered in Edition 3. She hummed her skip-counting song for sixes. "Six... twelve... eighteen... twenty-four! That's four! Four groups of six make twenty-four!"

She opened her eyes and wrote a bold "4" on the slate. It took her only a second.

"You did it," Eliyah beamed. "You didn't count a single dot. You used the power of relationship. Multiplication is the key that unlocks the door of Division. If you know how to build it, you know how to solve it."

Chapter 3: The Black Hole

One afternoon, Eliyah sat Sarah down in the garden. He looked more serious than usual. He held a small plate with 5 delicious-looking dates on it.

"Sarah," he said, "I want you to do something impossible. I want you to take these 5 dates and share them with **Zero** people. Not even yourself. Not the birds. Not the earth. I want you to put them into zero groups."

Sarah reached for the plate. "Okay, I'll just put them..." She stopped. If she put them on the ground, that would be 1 group (the ground). If she left them on the plate, that was 1 group. If she threw them away, the trash would be 1 group.

"I can't!" she cried, frustrated. "If there is no one to receive them, and no place for them to go, the sharing simply doesn't happen! The dates just sit there!"

"Exactly," Eliyah said, his voice deep. "In math, we cannot divide by zero. It is **Undefined.** It is like a Black Hole in the center of a galaxy. If we try to break a number into 0 parts, the number has nowhere to land. It breaks the logic of God's universe. If you see a zero at the bottom of a fraction or the end of a division sign, you must stop. The math has reached its limit."

Creation requires a Creator and a Creation. Relationship requires at least two. You cannot have Agape love with zero. You cannot have sharing with zero. The number 0 is powerful not just for what it is, but for what it *marks*—the boundary between existence and nothingness. It is possible, but it is sad. We must first be filled with the King's abundance before we have anything to divide among our neighbors."

Chapter 5: The Engine Room

On the final day of the unit, Eliyah took Sarah to the great windmill on the hill. The sails were spinning with a steady *thrum-thrum-thrum*. Inside, the gears were turning so fast they were a blur.

"Your mind must become like this engine," Eliyah shouted over the noise of the grinding stones. "You have learned the rules. You have met the families. Now, you must make them part of your breath."

He began to shout division facts like a captain calling orders. "Ten divided by two!"

"Five!" Sarah shouted back immediately.

"Twelve divided by four!"

"Three!"

"Twenty divided by five!"

"Four!"

Sarah didn't have to pause. She didn't have to think about "Rewinding." The answers just appeared in her mind, as if they had always been there. Just as you cannot divide God into pieces, you cannot divide a Prime number without a remainder. They are the solid pillars that hold up the house of math."

Chapter 7: The Science of the Inverse

In the afternoon, Eliyah showed Sarah a pair of scales. He put a 10-pound weight on one side. The scale tipped down.

"That is like Multiplication," he said. "We added weight. Now, how do we bring the scale back to the center?"

Sarah took the weight off. The scale returned to its original place.

"That is the Inverse," Eliyah said. "Every force in nature has an opposite force. For every push, there is a pull. For every building up, there is a taking down. The 12 was a large boulder blocking the road. 3 soldiers came to move it. They found that if they each pushed with a force of 4, the 12 would roll away. 12 divided by 3 soldiers meant each soldier needed 4 strength. 3 times 4 restored the road to peace.

2. The Wise 2, 9, and 18

There were 18 scrolls in the library. The Librarian had only 2 shelves. He knew from his multiplication memory that 2 times 9 is 18. So he put 9 scrolls on each shelf. 18 divided by 2 is 9. The library was in perfect order.

3. The Fast 5, 6, and 30

A runner had 30 miles to go. He knew he could run 5 miles every hour. He didn't have to count his steps. He just remembered the 5-6-30 family. 30 divided by 5 is 6. He knew he would be home in 6 hours.

4. The Heavy 4, 8, and 32

A wagon carried 32 bags of grain. There were 4 horses pulling it. 32 divided by 4 horses meant each horse was pulling 8 bags. The horses were happy because the load was shared exactly right.

5. The Tiny 1, 10, and 10

The 10 is a lonely number when it's divided by 1. 10 shared with only 1 person stays 10! The family of 1, 10, and 10 reminds us that when we are alone, we carry the whole burden ourselves.

The 7-Day Steward's Devotional: The Path of Return

Read one entry each day to prepare your heart for the Rewind.

Day 1: Finding What is Lost

Scripture: Luke 15:8 "Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?"

Thought: When you look at a division problem and don't know the answer, you are like the woman looking for her coin. The answer is already in the house! It's just hiding behind the multiplication sign. Use the light of your memory to find it. God never lets a truth stay lost forever.

Day 2: The Loop of Love

Scripture: Acts 20:35 "I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive."

Thought: Multiplication is "Receiving" (growing larger). Division is "Giving" (breaking smaller). But in math, they are the same family! You cannot have one without the other. To be a full person, you must know how to build up your life and how to pour it out for others. The loop must remain unbroken.

Day 3: The Empty Space

Scripture: Matthew 28:6 "He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay."

Thought: We often fear Zero. We fear having nothing. But the most important event in history happened in a place of Zero—an empty tomb. Zero is not just "nothing"; it is a space where God can do a new thing. When you reach 0 in your division, celebrate! The work is finished.

Day 4: The Bound Covenant

Scripture: Matthew 18:18 "Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

Thought: Fact Families are bound together. If you bind 3 and 7 to make 21, they are locked. To "loose" the 21, you must use the 3 or the 7. Your words and actions are like these numbers—they have consequences that must be untied with the right key. Be careful what you build!

Day 5: The Source of Abundance

Scripture: Philippians 4:19 "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

Thought: In division, we always start with the Dividend—the big number. In life, we always start with God's riches. We don't share what we don't have. We share out of the abundance He has already given us. Always look at the Source before you start to divide.

Day 6: The Unchanging Truth

Scripture: Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever."

Thought: $12 \div 4$ was 3 a thousand years ago, and it will be 3 a thousand years from now. This consistency is a gift from God. It allows us to trust the world. If math changed every day, we could never build a house or sail a ship. Thank God for the solid rock of truth.

Day 7: Restoring the Soul

Scripture: Psalm 23:3 "He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake."

Thought: Division is the "Path of Restoration." It leads us back to the factors—the beginning. When life gets complicated and "multiplied" by stress, go back to the start. Go back to the simple truths. Let God divide away the noise until you are back at the center of His love.

Inverse Operation
A mathematical action that reverses another. Multiplication and Division are inverses. Addition and Subtraction are inverses. It is the "Rewind" of math.
Fact Family
A trinity of numbers that are bound together by multiplication and division. If you know two, you can always find the third.
Factor
The small numbers that build the large number. In the house of 12, the 2 and the 6 are the factors.
Product
The large number created by multiplication. It is the "Whole House" that we divide to find the factors.
Undefined
A state where math cannot go. Dividing by zero is undefined because it has no landing place in reality.
Recall
The act of pulling a truth directly from your heart without needing to count on your fingers. It is the goal of the Engine Room.
Communion
The state of being one with the truth. When you know your facts so well you don't have to think, you are in communion with the numbers.

Appendix C: The Anthology of Restoration

1. The Restored Vine

A farmer had a vineyard. He planted 4 rows, and each row grew 10 bunches of grapes. $4 \times 10 = 40$. But a storm came and scattered the grapes. The farmer gathered all 40 bunches. He remembered his multiplication: "I had 4 rows." 40 divided by 4 told him exactly where to put the grapes back. 10 per row! The vineyard was restored to its original glory.

2. The King's Missing Gold

The Treasurer had 50 gold coins. He put them in 5 bags. $50 \div 5 = 10$. A thief stole one bag! The Treasurer counted the remaining 40 coins. He knew the family: 10 was the factor. 40 divided by 10 told him he only had 4 bags left. He knew exactly one bag was missing. The "Rewind" showed him the hole in his treasure.

3. The Broken Bread

A baker made 24 loaves of bread. He put them in boxes of 6. $24 \div 6 = 4$. He delivered them to the village. When he returned, he saw 4 empty boxes. He knew from the family (4 and 6) that 24 people had been fed. Even though the bread was gone, the numbers told the story of the feast.

4. The 100 Soldiers

The Captain had 100 soldiers. He marched them in 10 rows. $10 \times 10 = 100$. After the battle, he counted them back into their rows. He saw 10 rows of 9. He knew instantly that 10 soldiers were missing. The division of the survivors showed him the cost of the victory.

5. The Library of 60 Scrolls

There were 60 scrolls in the temple. There were 6 priests. Each priest was a steward of 10 scrolls. When the high priest called for an audit, he didn't count 60 scrolls. He just checked each of the 6 priests to see if they had their 10. The multiplication family made the work of the high priest light and joyful.
