Unit 1 Workbook: The Standard

Lesson 1.1 & 1.2: The Unit Connection

1.Customary Families: How many of the small parts fit into the larger whole?
1 Foot = Inches
3 Feet = Yard
12 Inches = Foot
2.Metric Order: The Metric system is built on tens. Fill in the blanks.
1 Meter = Centimeters
2 Meters = Centimeters
500 Centimeters = Meters
3.Discernment: Circle the unit that is Larger.

1 Inch   OR   1 Centimeter
1 Foot   OR   1 Yard
1 Meter   OR   1 Foot

Lesson 1.3: Starting at the Truth Mark

1.Integrity Check: Is the measurement starting at the true 0? Write YES or NO.
[Illustration: Pencil starting at the 1 inch mark]
Aligned with Truth?
[Illustration: Pencil starting perfectly at the 0 mark]
Aligned with Truth?
2.Rounding to Nearest: Look at where the blue line ends. Which whole number is it closer to?
0
1
2
3
4

Measured truth: About inches.

Lesson 1.4: Half-Inch Precision

1.The Midpoint: Where is the half-way mark? Fill in the mixed number.
Exactly between 1 and 2:
Exactly between 4 and 5:
Exactly between 10 and 11:
2.The Precision Challenge: Use your ruler to measure the lines below to the nearest Half-Inch.

Line A: ______________________  ➔

Line B: ____________  ➔

Line C: ________________________________  ➔

3.Draftsmanship: Draw a line that is exactly $2 \frac{1}{2}$ inches long.

Lesson 1.5: The Prophet's Vision

1.Ark Blueprint Project: God gave exact specs for the Ark. Now you give specs for things in your room. Estimate first, then find the Truth!
Object My Estimation The Ruler's Truth
Your Math Workbook (Width)
A Dining Chair (Height)
Your Toothbrush
Your Bed (Length in Feet)

Lesson 1.6: The Infinite Ruler

1. Infinite Zoom: If you zoom in between 3 inches and 4 inches, what do you find?

[   ] Nothing. It's empty space.

[   ] Halves, Quarters, Eighths... infinite fractions!

2. Draw the Zoom: Draw a 1-inch line. Now mark the half. Now mark the quarter.

🛡️ UNIT 1 SIGNET CHALLENGE

"The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal." — Revelation 21:16

1. The Audit: Measure this line to the nearest Half-Inch.

Length: inches.

2. The Conversion: Turn 2 Feet into Inches.

2 Feet = Inches.

I have mastered the Standard of the King.
