Unit 2 Workbook: The Vessel

Lesson 2.1 & 2.2: The Language of Capacity

1.Choose the Right Vessel: Circle the unit you would use to measure the liquid inside.
A Large Fish Tank: ( Cup / Gallon )
A Teaspoon of Syrup: ( Milliliter / Liter )
A Bottle of Milk: ( Quart / Milliliter )
A Bathtub: ( Cup / Gallon )
2.True or False? A Liter is about the same size as a Quart. ( TRUE / FALSE )
3.How many milliliters are in 1 whole Liter?

Lesson 2.3: Converting the Kingdom

1.The Gallon Man Logic: Use your memory of the hierarchy to solve.
1 Gallon = Quarts
1 Quart = Pints
1 Pint = Cups
2 Gallons = Quarts
2.The Big Count: If you have 4 Quarts, do you have a full Gallon? ( YES / NO )

Lesson 2.4: Reading the Smile

1.Precise Sight: Look at the beakers below. Read the volume at the BOTTOM of the curve. (Each mark is 100 mL).
- 400
- 200

Volume: mL

- 800
- 500

Volume: mL

Lesson 2.5: The Conservation Test

1.The Architect's Logic: You have 4 cups of water in a tall pitcher. You pour all of it into 4 small bowls. Each bowl gets exactly 1 cup.

Did the amount of water change?

What is this rule called? The Law of .

2.Drawing Proof: Draw a tall, thin glass and a short, wide bowl. Color them to show they both have 1 Cup of water inside.

C.A.M.E. Precision Node

A merchant claims that his large jar holds 10 pints of oil. He also claims the jar is a 1-gallon jar. Use your math laws to prove if the merchant is telling the truth. (Hint: How many pints fit in a gallon?)

Proof:

Lesson 2.6: The Royal Feast Exchange

1. Deep Conversion: You have 2 Gallons of milk. You need to fill Pints. How many Pints do you have?

Step 1: Convert Gallons to Quarts. 2 x 4 = [   ] Quarts.

Step 2: Convert Quarts to Pints. [   ] x 2 = [   ] Pints.

Total Pints:

2. The Baker's Cup: You have 1 Quart. How many Cups is that?

1 Quart = Cups.

Lesson 2.7: The Steward's Inventory

1. Inventory Check: Add the total volume in the warehouse.

🛡️ UNIT 2 SIGNET CHALLENGE

"There is not a vessel more." — 2 Kings 4:6

1. The Pour Test: Find a measuring cup. Pour 250 mL of water. Does it look like a full cup? ( [ ] Yes [ ] No )
2. The Meniscus Vow: Draw a picture of yourself looking at a beaker. Where should your eyes be? Draw a line from your eyes to the bottom of the water curve.

I have mastered the Laws of the Vessel.

Unit 2 Mastery Review: The Deep Dive

Prove your mastery of the Vessel.

1. The Aquarium Challenge: An aquarium holds 50 Gallons of water. You only have a 1-Quart pitcher to fill it. How many trips must you make to fill the tank?

2. The Science Lab: You have 2 Liters of solution. You need to pour it into test tubes that hold 50 mL each. How many test tubes can you fill?

Test Tubes:

3. The Party Punch: A recipe calls for 2 cups of juice, 1 pint of soda, and 1 quart of sherbet. What is the total volume of the punch in CUPS?

Total Cups:

4. The Leaky Faucet: A faucet drips 10 mL of water every minute. How many Liters of water are wasted in one hour? (Hint: 60 minutes in an hour).

Liters Wasted:

5. The Comparison: Which is more: 3 Gallons or 50 Cups? Show your work.

The Prophet's Vision: Real-World Capacity

1. The Water of Life: A village well produces 50 Gallons of water a day. If each family needs 2 Gallons, how many families can the well support? If they only need 2 Quarts each, how many families?

2 Gallons each: families.

2 Quarts each: families.

2. The Anointing Oil: A priest has a flask with 500 mL of oil. He needs to fill 10 small horns. Each horn holds 40 mL. Does he have enough oil? If so, how much is left over?

Enough? (YES/NO): Leftover: mL.

Appendix B: The Scribe's Journal

Reflect on the Vessel.

1. The Revelation: Why did the oil stop flowing when there were no more jars? What does this teach us about preparation?

2. The Application: How can you apply the Law of Conservation (Truth doesn't change with shape) to your friendships?
