The Scribe's Dictionary: Unit 4 Vocabulary
- Analog Clock:
- A clock with a face and moving hands.
- Digital Clock:
- A clock that shows time using numbers only.
- Hour Hand:
- The short hand. It moves slowly and points to the hour (1-12).
- Minute Hand:
- The long hand. It moves faster and points to the minutes (0-60).
- AM (Ante Meridiem):
- Latin for "Before Middle." The time from Midnight to Noon.
- PM (Post Meridiem):
- Latin for "After Middle." The time from Noon to Midnight.
- Elapsed Time:
- The amount of time that passes between a start time and an end time.
- Duration:
- How long an event lasts.
- Interval:
- The space between two points in time.
- Chronos:
- Clock time (seconds, minutes, hours).
